About Höweler + Yoon
Höweler + Yoon is an architecture and design practice working in institutional, cultural, residential, commercial, and public-space settings. The relationship between program, layout, and context is central when considering services of this kind: spatial decisions need to respond to planned activities, site characteristics, and the needs of people using the facilities.
Its portfolio also encompasses infrastructure, memorials, and exhibitions. This range of programs provides references connecting buildings, cities, and collective experience, and ways to compare how spatial decisions respond to different forms of occupation and gathering. Reviewing references by program and context helps identify which aspects of the practice can respond to the priorities of a particular assignment and its intended users.
An initial inquiry benefits from identifying the building use, location, approximate area, and whether the assignment involves new construction or an existing property. Reviewing comparable projects helps frame a discussion about scope, design stages, and coordination with the specialists required for the proposed work.
