About Södra Wood
Södra Wood is the wood products business of Södra, the Swedish forest-owner cooperative based in Växjö, and one of Europe's largest suppliers of wood for construction. Its range includes sawn timber, structural timber, interior products and timber building systems, sourced from family forests in southern Sweden.
When choosing structural timber, check strength class, moisture content, forest certification and treatment against moisture or insects for the intended use. Glued laminated timber and industrialised systems allow longer spans and faster assembly than traditional construction.
For facades and interiors, compare species, finishes and expected maintenance, because durability depends as much on the product as on construction detailing and ventilation. A supplier with certified traceability makes a building's environmental documentation easier.
