At project stage, define the strength class, consistence, maximum aggregate size and exposure class, and record any special requirements for pumpability or surface finish. Choosing a lower-carbon cement concrete should be checked against the striking programme and expected weather conditions.

Logistics is part of the product: agree delivery windows, access for mixer trucks and pumps, and a contingency plan for delays, since fresh concrete has a limited working window. A well-sequenced order avoids unplanned cold joints and improves the final finish.
