About Taller de Arquitectura Mauricio Rocha
Taller de Arquitectura is the office of Mauricio Rocha, founded in 1991 in Mexico City, which develops contemporary architecture sensitive to context and environment. Its practice combines materials from the region with new technology, in buildings designed to age with their place.
The studio works mainly on housing, cultural facilities and projects in natural settings, with a sustained interest in the relationship between built volume, void and landscape. Its architecture is often read through brick, concrete and timber arranged in simple, robust geometries that frame light and views.
Rocha’s office has become a reference for Mexican contemporary architecture, with works and teaching that link practice and university. Its long trajectory gives it a particular role: a studio that remains faithful to a contextual method while taking on commissions of very different scales.
