About Schauman & Nordgren Architects
Schauman & Nordgren Architects is an architecture and urban design studio based in Helsinki and Copenhagen, founded in 2015 by Ted Schauman and Jonas Nordgren. Its motto is to make places of inclusion, where people decide whether a building or neighbourhood has a beating heart.
The studio designs housing, neighbourhoods, public spaces and urban plans, with notable projects such as the timber pavilions on Turku Market Square. Its work combines the Nordic tradition with an international approach and a strong focus on community.
It suits cities and developers seeking to turn public spaces and former sites into lively, multigenerational neighbourhoods. Its compact scale allows close, people-centred design focused on the experience of residents and the activation of public space.
