About Palma Estudio

Palma is a young architecture studio founded in Mexico City by Ilse Cárdenas, Regina de Hoyos, Diego Escamilla and Juan Luis Rivera, all graduates of the National Autonomous University of Mexico’s architecture school. Its work is recognised for strong material sensitivity and a clear identity from the first presentation of each project.

The office develops housing, cultural projects and commissions of varied scale in Mexico and abroad, with particular attention to construction detail and the atmosphere of spaces. Its houses and pavilions tend to use simple geometries and honest materials, aiming for architecture that reads calmly and without artifice.

In recent years Palma has gained international visibility, including the commission, together with Taller TO, for Panama’s new Museum of Contemporary Art after an international competition. That trajectory confirms a practice which, despite its youth, already works on projects of public relevance.
