Nelissen Steenfabrieken, trading as Nelissen Bricks, is a family brickworks in Lanaken, Limburg, that has been making hand-moulded facing bricks for around a century. With annual output of about 185 million bricks sold in more than fifty countries, it is one of the best-known independent brick producers in Belgium.
Its strength lies in the hand-moulded range, where clay, firing and colour variation give façades a traditional, non-industrial appearance prized by architects working on housing and restoration. Alongside these, the company produces machine-moulded and special bricks, plus a range of complementary masonry products.
Nelissen combines an industrial plant with a showroom and design service for architects and builders, and its bricks appear in housing, public buildings and heritage work in Belgium and abroad.
