About Lignum
Lignum is a long-established Guatemalan company, constituted in 1971, dedicated to sawing and planing timber and to selling treated timber, pine and treated posts, with made-to-measure design, construction and joinery services. Its offer combines timber supply with carpentry work.
Treated timber must be chosen for its end use: a post in ground contact is not the same as a protected interior piece, and treatment, retention and standard must match that exposure. Ask for this information in writing and do not assume that all treated timber suits exterior ground-contact use.
On delivery, check pieces for severe drying splits and untreated zones at cuts, and seal site-cut ends when the manufacturer recommends it. An unsealed cut is the most common route by which a treated element starts to deteriorate.
