About Lhoist

Lhoist is a Belgian lime, dolomite and minerals group founded in the nineteenth century, headquartered in Limelette, in the municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Walloon Brabant. It is one of the world's leading lime producers, with operations in Europe, the Americas and Asia, and a historic presence in the Walloon quarries.

Its output serves construction, steelmaking, water treatment, agriculture and the chemical industry, with quicklime and hydrated lime, dolomites and calcium carbonates. On site, its products are used in mortars, soil stabilisation and infrastructure solutions, where lime remains a technical material with advantages in workability and durability.

Lhoist stands out for its family ownership and a strategy focused on product innovation and emissions reduction in calcination, one of the most carbon-intensive processes in the materials industry. For the Belgian market, it is a reference supplier of high-purity limes and tailored mineral solutions.
