About Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects

Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects is a Helsinki studio founded in 1997 by long-standing partners Ilmari Lahdelma and Rainer Mahlamäki. Its work is presented as a synthesis of sociology, spatiality and history, reaching beyond materiality alone.

The studio designs museums, educational campuses, mixed-use blocks, public buildings and urban projects in Finland and abroad. Among its best-known works are the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw and the Metropolia campus in Helsinki.

It suits clients who value historical context, material quality and socially aware design. Its competition experience and record on large public commissions make it a reliable partner for demanding institutional projects.
