About John Wardle Architects
John Wardle Architects, now known as Wardle, is a Melbourne studio founded in 1986 and recognised for richly detailed, material-focused, craft-led architecture. Its Collingwood studio works on education, culture, housing, workplace and public buildings.
The practice is characterised by careful material exploration and collaboration with makers and specialists. Its buildings usually respond very specifically to place, light and the way they are inhabited.
