About Estudio MMX
Estudio MMX is a collaborative architecture team founded in 2009 by Jorge Arvizu, Ignacio del Río, Emmanuel Ramírez and Diego Ricalde, based in Mexico City. From the outset it has presented itself as a collective practice, pooling its members’ experience through a participatory dynamic rather than relying on a single authorship.
Its work spans very different scales, from object and installation design to architecture and urbanism. Among its recognised works are gardens and public spaces, such as Jardín Cuauhtémoc in Tlahuelilpan, Hidalgo, named Project of the Year 2023 for helping rebuild the social fabric of a community hit by an explosion.
The studio approaches each project from its physical, economic and social context, seeking proposals that are intelligent in both design and intervention. That attention to territory explains a portfolio combining housing, pavilions, master plans and public facilities.
