About David Chipperfield Architects Berlin
David Chipperfield Architects Berlin, based in Berlin, is an architecture practice: Berlin office established in 1998 after winning the competition to rebuild the Neues Museum, with an international team working on museums, culture, housing and public projects worldwide.
Before commissioning a project, it is useful to agree from the outset on the scope of services, the timetable and the way of working with engineers and authorities, since planning in Germany usually proceeds in phases and through regulated competitions or procedures.
Good practice is to request a written proposal setting out the team, time commitment and fees in detail, and to check that the practice genuinely has capacity for the planned timetable before signing.
