About Carrières du Hainaut

Carrières du Hainaut is a Belgian blue-stone quarry, with its head office and single extraction site in Soignies, in the province of Hainaut. It quarries and processes the emblematic Blue Stone of Hainaut, also called petit granit or arduin, a hard, compact limestone widely present in traditional and heritage Walloon architecture.

In addition to blocks and dimension stone for architecture, the company produces aggregates: its extension project includes a new aggregates manufacturing plant and an extension of the deposit, with wet-process treatment. The operation is presented as one of the largest of its kind, with annual production on the order of 200,000 cubic metres.

For the cement, concrete and aggregates category, Carrières du Hainaut contributes a Belgian quarry and producer of aggregates and natural stone, distinct from the cement and lime makers already in the lot. Its fit is stone extraction and processing and aggregates, not cement manufacture.
