Augusto Quijano Arquitectos is the practice founded by Augusto Quijano Axle in Mérida, Yucatán, one of the most recognised careers in contemporary Yucatecan architecture. Its work is characterised by luminosity, the transition between interior and exterior, and a reinterpretation of the territory's history and climate.
The studio has built homes, hotels, universities and corporate buildings, such as the Universidad del Mayab, Hotel Los Aluxes and Mérida's City Center. It has won gold and silver medals at Mexican architecture biennials and honours at the Cemex Awards.
