About Architekten Hermann Kaufmann
Architekten Hermann Kaufmann, operating as HK Architekten, is a Vorarlberg practice in Schwarzach whose architecture weaves together material resources, topography and history with craftsmanship and everyday building traditions, inspired above all by wood.
It is a leading reference for timber construction in Austria, from houses and workplaces to large-scale timber projects, and it suits clients who want wood used as a serious structural and architectural material rather than as a decorative finish.
Before contacting the practice, define the timber strategy, the supply and prefabrication expectations and the fire and building-physics requirements, and ask for built examples at a similar scale.
