About AOR Architects

AOR Architects is a young Helsinki studio founded in 2015 by Erkko Aarti, Arto Ollila and Mikki Ristola. Soon after its founding it won the open competition for the Jätkäsaari School in Helsinki, its first major work.

The studio specialises in complex public buildings, learning environments, museums and housing, as well as urban design in demanding urban settings and sensitive landscapes. Its projects include the Monio High School and Cultural Centre in Tuusula and the extension to Tampere Art Museum.

In 2021 it received the Finnish State Prize for Architecture, confirming its position among the country's most successful young studios. It is an interesting choice for public clients seeking to combine aesthetic, ecological, social, practical and economic demands into memorable architecture in harmony with its context.
