ALA Architects

ALA Architects is a Helsinki practice known for complex public buildings, renovations of modernist landmarks and infrastructure systems. Founded in 2005, the studio won the international competition for Helsinki Central Library, a project that became a benchmark for its approach to contemporary public space.

Its work spans libraries, theatres, concert halls, stations and cultural facilities, as well as master plans for demanding urban settings. The studio combines flowing forms with careful attention to circulation, daylight and the visitor experience.

For public clients and developers seeking ambitious, well-resolved design, ALA offers an internationally awarded track record and a strong competition culture. Its projects often bring architecture, landscape and everyday use together into a coherent, lasting whole.
