About AKD Softwoods
AKD Softwoods, trading as Associated Kiln Driers, is a 100% Australian-owned integrated forestry and timber processing company founded in 1955 in Colac, Victoria. It operates sawmills and processing sites in Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, still working from the site where it was founded.
Its products include structural framing, treated pine, posts and poles, and a range of softwood building timbers for residential and commercial construction. As an integrated processor it controls the chain from log intake to dried, graded and treated timber.
For builders and merchants, AKD is a reliable regional supplier with a reputation for high-quality softwood and consistent supply. Its Colac base and multi-state footprint support projects across south-eastern Australia that need certified structural timber at scale.
